Another buzzy attack, this time, ending up in A&E. Poor me!

I am smiling to make this more palatable for everyone. I look like the elephant woman. I've been wearing shades all day so as not to frighten everyone! This time I was stung at 7am, at my folks house this time, feeling like MY HEAD WAS ON FIRE - a pleasant sensation which has slowly been working its way down my forehead, and has now engulfed the upper left side of my face. I look like some botox nightmare!

A trip to A&E wasn't what I had planned for today!

I am now officially at war with all things that go buzz buzz and fly around.

  4. Virtual hugs (and antihistamines!) coming your way - hope you feel better soon and it doesn't put the brakes on enjoying your beautiful garden too much.

  5. I forced myself to go in the garden today. ( Back at home now) And, I stopped myself running to Pete to come to my rescue, when a hornet got trapped in the window. I calmly opened it, and let him or her out. I am trying to empathise with the buzzy things and bring some calm to my traumatised mind!

  8. If I ever posted the photo I took of my daughter when she was stung on the lip by a wasp, people would run screaming from their computers...she looked like a freaky platypus...top lip swollen up to at least 4 times its normal size. Amazing how powerful those stings are, from such a tiny creature, and how powerful our bodies' response! Hope you're feeling better soon. Time to spray that nest with insecticide...hate to be the one to say it. I respect nature until it endangers my children or me...so, bears are welcome to wander the woods around our house but once they traipse into the yard, I call my neighbour, the hunter. Sounds brutal, I know...but hey, I'm Canadian! :)

  9. Hey mama knitty. I hear ya. This occasion I was at my parents, sleeping, with a window open slightly cos it's been so hot. I don't even know where any nests actually are at my place.... since there are a number of sheds, trees, bushes, all kinds of wildly overgrown nooks and crannies. It's such a beautiful garden but next summer we will seriously have to tame this garden and root out all these hidey holes... Bears? Yikes, you're braver than I am !

  10. Poor you indeed! I won't suggest drawing with black marker to monitor the swelling as per my husband's doing when I was got by one of the nasty stingy things.... Hope it heals soon x Citronella candles for the garden? I don't actually know if they work?
